How You'll Fulfill Your Mission The Senior Accountant is responsible for preparing financial reports, maintaining accounting records, and ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting principles and company policies. This role requires advanced technical accounting knowledge and the ability to work independently on complex accounting tasks while supporting month‑end and year‑end close processes.

Key Responsibilities

Analyze financial data and identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement

Prepare management reports and financial analysis as needed

General Ledger & Accounting Operations

Prepare journal entries

Manage and review general ledger entries and account reconciliations

Oversee month‑end and year‑end close processes

Maintain chart of accounts and ensure proper account coding

Accounts Payable/Receivable

Oversee AP/AR processes and resolve complex issues

Review vendor invoices, expense reports, and payment processing

Monitor aging reports and follow up on outstanding items

Compliance & Controls

Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and company policies

Support internal and external audit processes

Maintain documentation and support for financial transactions

Implement and monitor internal controls

Why We Value You Education

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required

CPA certification preferred (or actively pursuing)

Experience

5+ years of progressive accounting experience

5+ years of inventory and cost accounting experience

Experience with month‑end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting

Start‑up and manufacturing experience required

Public accounting experience is a plus

Technical Skills

Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, complex formulas)

Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Odoo17, etc.)

Strong understanding of GAAP principles

Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance requirements

Core Competencies

Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills

Able to pivot in a start‑up environment

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

Ability to handle confidential information with discretion

The pay range for this role is:

$97,750-120,700

The stated compensation range reflects only the targeted base salary range in the San Francisco Bay Area and excludes additional earnings such as bonus and benefits. If your salary requirements fall outside of the range, we still encourage you to apply.

All jobs restricted by these regulations will be contingent upon the applicant's status as a documented U.S. Person or their ability to receive a trade license from the cognizant government agency; in addition to any required company background checks and in compliance with applicable U.S. and California laws. Similarly, positions requiring the ability to work on government contracts or a security clearance are also contingent upon the applicant's ability to receive the appropriate clearance and be allowed to work on U.S. government contracts.
