Job Overview Aurex Defense is seeking a talented and experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team. You'll be at the forefront of developing innovative hardware solutions for next-generation spacecraft, aircraft, and robotic systems. This role requires a combination of technical expertise and problem-solving skills to contribute to innovative projects.

Responsibilities

Conduct market surveys, feasibility studies and create detailed design concepts

Conduct trade studies and perform design optimization

Design and develop electrical components and systems for space, aircraft, or robotic applications

Create and manage detailed circuit schematics, PCB layouts, and simulations using tools such as Altium or similar software

Perform electrical analysis on systems, including power integrity, signal integrity, and EMI/EMC, to ensure performance in harsh environments

Support prototyping, testing, and validation of electrical systems, iterating designs based on test results, with hands‑on lab troubleshooting using tools like oscilloscopes

Develop and maintain test plans and procedures

Oversee manufacturing and assembly processes for PCBs and electronic assemblies

Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including mechanical engineers, software engineers, and project managers

Qualifications

Only U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain a security clearance will be considered.

Work in person at our corporate headquarters in Huntsville AL

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related field with relevant experience in the industry

Master's degree or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or relevant field with experience in applying your knowledge to real‑world systems

2-5 years of industry experience in electrical design and development

Proven experience in designing hardware for space, aircraft, or robotic systems

Extensive knowledge of circuit design software and simulation tools

Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills

Preferred Qualifications

Strong background in circuit design and power electronics, including switch‑mode power supply design, battery systems, and Li‑Po battery management

Proficiency in circuit simulation tools (e.g., SPICE, LTSpice) and hands‑on lab testing/troubleshooting with oscilloscopes and other diagnostic equipment

Experience implementing microcontrollers and communication protocols such as serial, RS232/485, I2C, SPI, and Ethernet

Knowledge of manufacturing processes for electronics (e.g., PCB fabrication, soldering, assembly)

Experience with rapid prototyping techniques for circuits and systems

How You Will Be Rewarded The salary range for this position is 110,000-160,000 annually. We offer a comprehensive total rewards approach to compensation, providing incentives and benefits that extend far beyond the base salary. Compensation is determined by the candidate’s work experience, education, training, and relevant skills.
