Job Title: Phlebotomist II
Location: Portland TN
Duration: 5 Months
Shift: 7am - 4pm (Monday - Friday)
Job Summary The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as the face of the company, interacting directly with patients as part of their healthcare journey and life-defining health decisions. The PSR II is responsible for drawing quality blood samples, preparing specimens for laboratory testing, and ensuring all procedures are performed safely, accurately, and professionally. This role requires strong patient interaction skills to create an atmosphere of trust and confidence while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy of patient information.
Successful candidates may be assigned to a doctor’s office, a Patient Service Center (PSC), or other locations based on business needs.
Key Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Area Supervisor, the PSR II will:
Perform daily activities accurately and on time
Maintain a safe, professional, and patient-focused environment
Collect and process clinical and forensic specimens following established procedures
Perform patient verification, including:
Confirming patient demographics
Obtaining patient initials/signature post-venipuncture
Verifying specimens are labeled correctly in the patient’s presence
Maintain required records and documentation
Demonstrate leadership behaviors and organizational commitment
Promote a positive company image to patients, clients, employees, and the public
Job Requirements
Ability to deliver high-quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision
Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Superior customer service and communication skills
Ability to make sound decisions based on established procedures
Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call shifts as needed
Willingness to travel and work at multiple locations with minimal notice
Commitment to company policies, including dress code, safety standards, and Everyday Excellence Guiding Principles
Education Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent (Required)
Medical Assistant or Paramedic training (Preferred)
Phlebotomy certification (Preferred)
Required in California, Nevada, and Washington
Work Experience
1–3 years of phlebotomy experience required, including:
Pediatric
Geriatric
Capillary collections
2 years of experience in a Patient Service Center environment (Preferred)
Customer service experience in a retail or service environment (Highly Preferred)
Keyboarding and data entry experience
Additional Job Details
Reliable transportation is mandatory (bus, Uber, or rideshare is not considered reliable transportation)
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required if applicable
Must be punctual, attend all scheduled shifts, and remain for the entire shift
Excessive absenteeism or tardiness is not tolerated and may result in termination
Candidates must live within a 20–25 minute commute of the assigned work location
Training locations may vary based on trainer availability
