Description We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to join our team in Trenton, New Jersey. In this contract to hire role, you will oversee critical accounting operations, ensuring compliance and accuracy in financial reporting. Residents of Mercer County are strongly preferred. Responsibilities:
- Lead and execute the month-end closing process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Manage the general ledger, maintaining integrity and consistency in transactions.
- Oversee financial statement audits, coordinating with internal and external teams to ensure compliance.
- Perform account reconciliations to identify discrepancies and ensure proper resolution.
- Prepare and review journal entries to maintain accurate financial records.
- Utilize Microsoft Excel to analyze financial data and create detailed reports.
- Monitor and enforce adherence to accounting policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with other departments to improve financial processes and reporting.
- Provide guidance and support to entry-level accounting staff as needed.
- Strong knowledge of general ledger management and reconciliation.
- Familiarity with financial statement audits and related compliance requirements.
- Expertise in account reconciliation and resolving discrepancies.
- Proficiency in preparing and reviewing journal entries.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis and reporting.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a government or similar structured environment.
