Ground Support Equipment Mechanic Location: Tampa International Airport, TPA

Pay: $19.00/hour - $24.00/hour

Responsibilities

Inspect and identify defective or broken parts on vehicles, and make repairs to gas/diesel engines, hydraulic, electrical, fueling, and mechanical systems.

Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual quality control checks on refueling equipment.

Maintain records relating to maintenance.

Drive and operate refueling equipment vehicles.

Provide preventative care and timely repairs to equipment, ensuring aircraft services team can operate effectively.

Maintain a safe and secure work environment in accordance with local health, safety, and security policies and procedures.

Assure a clean and safe working environment.

Other duties and tasks as required.

Carry out work in accordance with information and training provided and any specific workplace health and safety rules or procedures.

Requirements

3 to 5 years mechanical experience.

Must be 18 years of age.

Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Must pass pre-employment drug screen.

Ability to read, write, and speak English.

Must be comfortable lifting/moving 70 lbs.

Must be available and flexible to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays.

Must be comfortable working in all weather conditions.

Must pass background check and obtain Customs seal.

Must be able to obtain and maintain all required Airports and Customs badges/seals.

Must have a High School Diploma or GED, or one to three months of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Safety, Security and Compliance

Take reasonable care for the health and safety of themselves and others affected by their actions.

Fully versed on International Aviation Safety and Security standards and passionate about promoting them.

Cooperate with manager/supervisor to comply with legal requirements.

Inform manager of any work situation, equipment or activity that represents a serious or immediate danger.

Report hazards, near misses, incidents, or dangerous occurrences.

Fully understand company health and safety policy and attend training courses.
