Description Ground Support Equipment Mechanic at Menzies Aviation.

Location Fort Lauderdale International Airport (FLL).

Responsibilities

Inspect and identify defective or broken parts on ground support vehicles.

Repair gas/diesel engines, hydraulic, electrical, fueling, and mechanical systems.

Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual quality control checks on refueling equipment.

Maintain records relating to maintenance and operating refueling equipment vehicles.

Provide preventative care and timely repairs to keep the aircraft services team operating effectively.

Maintain a safe, secure, and clean working environment in accordance with local health, safety, and security policies and procedures.

Assure a clean and safe working environment and perform other duties as required.

Safety, Security, and Compliance

Take reasonable care for the health and safety of themselves and others affected by the employee’s actions or omissions while at work.

Be fully versed on International Aviation Safety and Security standards and actively promote them within the organization.

Co‑operate with the manager or supervisor to perform or comply with any legal or regulatory obligations.

Do not intentionally or recklessly interfere with or misuse any equipment, systems, or resources provided by the company for health, safety, or welfare reasons.

Inform the manager or supervisor of any work situation, equipment, or activity that represents a serious or immediate danger to health and safety.

Report any hazards, near misses, incidents, accidents, or dangerous occurrences to the manager or supervisor and follow the procedures contained in the safety manual.

Carry out work in accordance with information, training, and any specific workplace health and safety rules or procedures.

Fully understand the company health and safety policy, attend training courses as arranged by the Company.

Qualifications and Experience

3 to 5 years mechanical experience.

Must be 18 years of age.

Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Must pass a pre‑employment drug screen.

Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently.

Must be comfortable lifting or moving 70 lbs.

Must be available and flexible to work variable shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Must be comfortable working in all weather conditions.

Must pass a background check and obtain a Customs seal.

Must obtain and maintain all required Airports and Customs badges/seals.

Must have a High School Diploma, GED, or one to three months related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
