Senior Accountant – Woodbury, NY
Stanton Carpet, a leading designer and supplier of decorative flooring, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Woodbury, NY location. This fully on‑site position calls for a professional with strong GAAP knowledge, analytical skills, and a team‑oriented mindset.
Responsibilities
Prepare journal entries and assist with month‑end and year‑end closings.
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports for management.
Review and audit expense reports.
Review commission calculations.
Prepare and distribute daily bank balances.
Prepare bank and other account reconciliations.
Review daily bank activity for accuracy.
Prepare and file multi‑state sales and use tax returns.
Assist with year‑end audit requirements.
Analyze sales, inventory and gross profit variances and trends.
Assist with budgets and budget versus actual variance analysis.
Select cycle count audits periodically.
Assist with additional analysis, tasks and special projects as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and 5+ years of relevant experience.
Experience in wholesale, distribution, or manufacturing preferred.
Working knowledge of tax laws and GAAP.
Strong financial analysis skills.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
High level of organizational and follow‑up skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and assignments.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain relationships across the organization.
Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
