Stable NY Law Firm seeks Staff Accountant to join their Team!
Responsibilities
Monitor, guide, or cover (if needed) the Junior Accountant’s daily activities.
Manage the budget tool and assist other Business Service managers with the budget and forecast vs. actual monthly review process.
Responsible for Fixed Asset depreciation file maintenance (FAS) and checking the journal entries.
Calculate attorneys’ monthly origination fee and providing the file to the Senior Payroll Analyst.
Checking the month end analysis, journal entries and bank reconciliations.
Prepare and submit the monthly and annual financial reports to management.
Prepare and submit the quarterly financial reports to the bank, in compliance with loan covenants.
Responsible for PTET, UBT, CRT and all other state payments.
Provided the charitable contribution schedule to the firm’s co-COOs.
Assist with the firm’s annual/year-end audits.
Involved in providing the necessary information requested for completing the firm’s surveys.
Work on additional projects/assignments designated by the firm’s management.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience required.
3-5 years of General Accounting experience.
Prior experience working within the legal or professional services industries required.
Elite 3E experience preferred.
Knowledge of Microsoft Word and advanced Excel skills.
Excellent problem solving and analysis skills.
Initiative-taking and comfortable regularly taking initiative to complete tasks and assignments.
Ability to multi-task, follow through and re-prioritize as needed to meet deadlines.
Excellent time management, organizational, and communication skills.
