POSITION SUMMARY Texas Inter-Faith Management/40i is a non‑profit organization affiliated with The Inter‑Faith Group (IFG), which is an alliance of seven independently operated non‑profit organizations that share a collective mission to create quality affordable housing and support services to families. This position is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of reporting of the fi­nal activity for all properties under the TIFM portfolio. This includes managing cash flow, income, liability obligations, and assets.

Job Type: Full‑time

Salary: Commensurate with experience

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Compile monthly financial information in accordance with deadlines/requirements while adhering to all corporate policies and GAAP accounting principles.

Assist in the preparation of accurate financial statements for multiple clients with a variety of different reporting requirements.

Perform month‑end close process, including preparation of account reconciliations, journal entries, account analysis and monthly financial statement review for all properties within the TIFM portfolio.

Effectively communicate and collaborate with clients and property management in a timely manner while providing exceptional customer service.

Maintain effective internal controls while providing oversight of all cash flow across all properties, including timely deposit of checks received at the corporate office.

Perform monthly analysis of all property fi­nalities, including but not limited to, budget variances, bank reconciliations, balance sheet and P&l analysis.

Assist Controller by providing ad‑hoc reporting and analysis upon request.

Maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive information with discretion.

Perform other duties and tasks assigned by Supervisor or Executive Team.

Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and auditing practices.

High degree of accuracy and great attention to detail.

Ability to work independently on complex, detailed processes.

Ability to meet firm deadlines as set by Property Accounts Controller.

Strong initiative to investigate discrepancies in property reporting.

Excellent customer service skills.

Professionalism to a high degree in interactions with all internal and external parties.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Record journal entries & accruals, reconcile income, and document payment in industry specific software.

Perform cash disbursement and collection through wires and checks.

Identify and recommend improvements to the accounting process to streamline operations and reduce costs.

Assist with annual audits, budgets, replacement reserve requests, and surplus cash distributions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES) Knowledge & Skills:

Education & Experience

Degree in accounting/finance or equivalent experience.

10+ years of accounting work experience, with evidence of job duties increasing in complexity.
