Road Mechanic Job Description Summary We are seeking an entrepreneurial, empowering Road Mechanic to perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on equipment in the safest, most effective way possible to avoid downtime. The fleet includes Aerial Work Platforms, general construction tools, and equipment; specialty lines may include large‑scale generators, pumps, HVAC systems, and oil/gas equipment.
Responsibilities
Work on a variety of makes and models of equipment in challenging remote locations.
Perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on diesel and heavy construction equipment.
Troubleshoot hydraulic and electrical systems.
Maintain a flexible schedule to accommodate changing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
Provide mechanical tools of the trade as needed.
Follow all safety protocols to protect the team and equipment.
Qualifications and Experience
High school diploma or GED required; trade school or equivalent training preferred.
3‑5 years of mechanic experience with diesel equipment, heavy construction equipment, or specialty lines (generators, pumps, HVAC, oil & gas).
Valid driver’s license; acceptable driving record; 21 years of age and CDL may be required in some locations.
Knowledge of hydraulic systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
Knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a safety‑focused environment.
Bilingual (Spanish or other) may be required based on location needs.
Physical Demands The role requires bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, and lifting 50 pounds or more. Work may be performed indoors and outdoors as required by the job.
