Location Nashville, Tennessee — The Omni Nashville Hotel is located on Fifth Avenue between Demonbreun and Korean Veterans Boulevard in downtown Nashville.
Job Summary The Omni Nashville Hotel is excited to offer competitive wages and benefits, growth opportunities, paid time off and hotel stay discounts. If you love hospitality and have a passion to serve others, this role seeks a dedicated Loss Prevention Officer dedicated to promoting safety for guests, associates and the property. To promote the safety and tranquil stay of hotel guests and associates, and ensure the policies and procedures of the hotel are maintained in a safe and secure environment.
Responsibilities
Promote the safety of our guests, associates, and hotel property always.
Perform security patrols and monitor the following areas: restaurants, public areas, banquet and meeting space, guest floors, associate entrance, parking areas, office back‑of‑house areas, and hotel exteriors.
Visit all locations requiring special attention as frequently as required.
Respond immediately to emergency incidents and security requests.
Monitor closed circuit television and alarm systems and maintain security of the receiving area.
Report in writing on all activities during each shift before leaving the hotel, with oral reports and emergency notifications delivered as directed by established security procedures.
Perform all necessary administrative requirements of the Loss Prevention Department, including writing reports, maintaining files, processing work orders, ordering supplies, schedules, and posting bulletin board information.
Create and always maintain the highest standards of security, being professional in attitude, appearance, and application.
Monitor associates entering and leaving the hotel, collect all package passes and inspect parcels taken from the hotel.
Monitor the back entrance and receiving dock.
Check all personnel entering and provide information and direction upon proper identification of all job applicants, salesmen, etc.; notify the department head involved for permission for non‑staff personnel to enter the premises.
Confiscate all unauthorized items, etc., and notify the Director of Loss Prevention, Director of Engineering, Human Resources Director and the appropriate department head.
Ensure that all phases of the key control program are maintained, investigate discrepancies thoroughly, and report to the Director of Loss Prevention.
Ensure that all security equipment (uniforms, push‑to‑talk radios, cameras, SALTO Card system, etc.) are kept clean and in good working condition.
Administer the hotel lost and found program.
Maintain a continual line of communication with the Director of Loss Prevention.
Perform duties as assigned by the supervisor and respond to directions from any executive committee member or manager.
Qualifications
One‑year experience in a similar Loss Prevention role preferred.
Must possess a valid Tennessee Unarmed Security Guard License on date of hire.
Must successfully complete and pass Dallas’s Law training prior to date of hire.
Experience in loss prevention in an upscale hospitality establishment preferred.
Must become CPR and basic first aid certified.
Good verbal and written communication skills; computer proficient with Microsoft Office and email.
Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
Maintain a professional business appearance, attitude, and performance.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule including day, evening, weekends and holidays.
Move, bend, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 40 pounds without assistance.
Stand, walk or sit for an extended period or for an entire work shift.
Requires repetitive motion, including utilizing telephone or computer for an extended period or for an entire shift.
