Summary The Conflicts Administrator is responsible for researching and analyzing complex business relationships to determine if potential legal conflicts exist. The role provides senior‑level conflict analysis support for attorneys and staff through research, conflict checks, advising on search strategies, summarizing potential conflicts, and ensuring the integrity of the conflicts of interest database. The administrator works closely with other administrators to manage daily workflow and may provide department oversight in the absence of the Director.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Work closely with peer Conflicts Administrators to manage daily workflow related to conflicts and new business intake requests.

Coordinate with Conflict Specialists, Assistant Administrators, and review complex assignments for accuracy.

Communicate with attorneys and staff about procedures and policies.

Provide staff orientation and training across offices.

Perform new attorney orientation in various offices.

Review and analyze lateral attorney potential conflicts.

Be available for after‑hours/weekend urgent conflicts on a rotating monthly schedule.

Conduct research on search parties using Mergent, SEC Filings, Lexis, Westlaw, and Internet resources.

Analyze complex reports, highlight conflicting issues for attorney review, and correspond with secretaries and attorneys to obtain information.

Assist the Director and General Counsel co‑chairs with special reports and research.

Propose new policies and procedures to enhance the process.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.

Strong customer service orientation, project management, and problem‑solving abilities.

Excellent judgment, maturity, attention to detail, and reliability.

Ability to analyze complex business relationships to identify potential legal conflicts and recommend resolution.

Effective verbal and written communication with a variety of stakeholders (lawyers, accountants, secretaries, IT, etc.).

Organize high‑volume workflow, work independently, make decisions, and solve problems.

Proficient in MS Word, Outlook, and the Office Suite.

Expert knowledge of Intapp Open or similar workflow product and strong Excel skills.

Proficient in iManage or similar document management software.

Knowledge of integrated accounting packages such as Elite/3E or records management software preferred.

Advanced research skills using Dun & Bradstreet, Internet, and other databases.

Education Minimum Bachelor’s degree required. BA/BS in a research or related field preferred.

Experience Minimum 5 years of conflicts, legal research, and/or paralegal experience required. Supervisory experience in a law firm preferred.

Salary Annualized good‑faith base salary range:

Los Angeles, Boston, Chicago, Washington, DC: $99,000 – $149,000 per year

San Francisco, New York: $109,000 – $164,000 per year
