I.T. Manager is responsible for establishing appropriate systems, methods, budgets, project planning, system analysis, program development, cost control, and implementation, to achieve effective business solutions to meet corporate objectives and priorities.
This position is responsible for the management, coordination and oversight of all MIS related activities systems, and components to include electronic voice and data communications, network transport, staff and vendor management, disaster recovery planning, establishing long term plans for growth, and observing current company needs and create solutions.
The I.T. Manager participates and directs MIS staff in designing, selecting or developing, testing and implementing computer applications, program modifications and enhancements to meet requirements for effective and efficiently designed database, information and network systems.

I.T. Manager is responsible for establishing yearly departmental budget
Lead IT projects, including the design and deployment of new IT systems and services
Managing software development projects following the software development lifecycle process
Monitor performance of information technology systems to determine cost and productivity levels, and to make recommendations for improving the IT infrastructure
Help define IT infrastructure strategy, architecture, and processes
Analyze business requirements by partnering with key stakeholders across the organization to develop solutions for IT needs
Assess vendors and develop test strategies for new hardware and software
Troubleshoot hardware and software issues related to internal IT
Researches and implements technological strategic solutions
Accomplishes information technology staff results
Initiates, coordinates, and enforces systems, policies, and procedures
Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees
Maintains a safe and secure work environment
Develops personal growth opportunities
Maintains organization’s effectiveness and efficiency by defining and delivering strategic plans for implementing information technologies
Directs technological research by studying organization goals, strategies, practices, and user projects
Completes projects by coordinating resources and timetables with user departments and data center

Preserves assets by implementing disaster recovery and back‑up procedures and information security and control structures
Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards

Essential Functions
Reviews requests and requirements, cost vs. benefit, identifies alternate systems approaches, and develops recommendations
Develop and implement system growth and transition plans
Implement, administer and troubleshoot complex information systems that include: Microsoft Exchange, MS SQL, Citrix, and Disaster Recovery software
Recommend modifications of work processes when applicable to improve functionality of systems
Hands‑on experience with computer networks, network administration and network installation
Central source for hardware and software purchases to manage compliance and cost issues along with accurate asset tracking
Communicate the status of all projects to management on a regular basis
Evaluate, approve, and manage outside vendors for software and hardware support. Provide outsourcing recommendations
Front line role in Disaster Recovery procedures requires hands on ability before, during, and after the incident
Maintains organization's effectiveness and efficiency by defining, delivering, and supporting strategic plans for implementing information technologies
Maintains and manages organization computer equipment, servers, networking equipment, and communications equipment. Including management and support for Microsoft, Apple, Linux, Cisco, and other Dell products
Updates and maintains acceptable use policies referring to organization network usage, computer usage, server usage, and security policies
Additional Responsibilities
Coordinates the testing and implementation of computer systems.
Provide backup to department staff for systems and technical issues.
Researching alternative solutions based on combinations of costs and return on investment.
Attend meetings and observe and recognize areas, procedures, or systems that can be improved via MIS resources.
Perform other duties as assigned
Physical Requirements Ability to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for Light Work.
Visual Requirements Required to have a close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to eyes.
Environmental Conditions
Subject to inside environmental conditions: Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
Subject to both environmental conditions: Activities occur inside and outside.
Subject to noise: There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level.
Desired Qualifications
Frequent reading of periodicals and other literature on the state‑of‑the‑art and data processing as well as attendance at vendor-sponsored and other seminars in order to maintain the level of familiarity with the subject matter required to fill this position.
Undergraduate Degree.
MIS Experience in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to observe and quickly acquire a level of understanding of procedures and processes of company and departmental operations and suggest and create procedures, software, and or systems to increase efficiency.
Team player, able to easily communicate with personnel at all levels.
Prior software development experience required to manage software projects.
Familiar with Disaster Recovery.
Ability to work extended hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays if required. Availability before and shortly after weather related emergencies such as hurricanes.
Able to meet deadlines and the ability to multitask when necessary
A strong working knowledge of design and maintenance of computer hardware, including Networks and PCs.
The ability to manage and motivate staff and vendors.
Certifications in related field.
