Project Accountant (Construction) – South Jersey
Compensation: $65,000 – $75,000/year + bonus
Location: South Jersey area
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)
Responsibilities
Billing Compliance: Ensure all project billings meet contract terms, including retention and stored materials.
Payment Applications: Prepare and submit monthly AIA payment applications and invoices to general contractors.
Project Analysis: Conduct monthly reconciliations and job statement reviews to confirm billing goals are achieved.
Change Orders: Manage, track, and invoice project‑specific change orders while maintaining accurate records.
Collections & Collaboration: Support collections, resolve payment variances, and coordinate with project managers on billing and retention requests.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred.
Experience: 1-2 years of project accounting or billing analyst experience required, with direct experience in construction accounting and AIA billing preferred.
Technical Skills: Advanced Microsoft Office skills with strong Excel proficiency, and experience in accounting or project management systems preferred.
Skills & Attributes: Detail‑oriented with strong billing and reporting accuracy, excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, and effective communication skills for stakeholder management.
