Our consumer products client located nearby the Irvine Spectrum is seeking a solid Senior Accountant to join their team to support the accounting function for the daily and periodic closes, account reconciliations, and financial reporting. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties:
Assist in the monthly/quarterly/yearly closes by preparing and reviewing journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations
Assist with P&L reviews and variance analysis for senior management
Support inventory to ensure accurate pricing and inventory levels
Prepare financial reports, schedules, and support for external audit purposes
Partner with cross functional team members for continuous process improvement and reporting accuracies
Participate in the annual audits by preparing related schedules for external auditors and address questions and inquiries related to account balances
Assist with special projects including process efficiencies and workflow
The ideal Senior Accountant will possess the following:
About 3-7 years of experience ideally with a blend of public accounting (1-2 years on the audit/assurance side) and 1-3 years of industry accounting
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related business field
A CPA or CPA in progress with parts of the exam passed is highly preferred
Strong understanding of US GAAP and financial statement audit concepts
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as a team
Strong Excel skills are required.
This role is primarily an IN-OFFICE role with 4 days in office and 1 day remote.
