Eligibility & Requirements
Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited RN Program.
Certification/Licensure: New graduate RNs must be licensed or eligible to be licensed as an RN in Virginia.
Experience: New graduate RN if you are about to graduate, have graduated, and have less than one year of practice.
Our RN Student Liaison (clberry@sentara.com) supports you through the fast-track application process and helps you connect with desired Sentara locations.
Nurse Residency Program Sentara’s Nurse Residency Program supports transition from student to professional. Designed for new graduate RNs with less than one year experience, the 6‑month immersive program is available across all 12 Sentara hospitals. It combines practical skills, hands‑on training, professional development, mentoring, and prepares nurses for roles in Medical Surgical, Intermediate Care, Critical Care, Emergency Care, Operating Room, or Women’s Health.
