Clive Behavioral Health West opened in February 2021 with 100 inpatient beds for adults, children, and adolescents experiencing severe behavioral health crises. Position Summary The Nurse Manager is responsible for ensuring coordinated delivery of patient care in accordance with established standards of care, mental health practice, and hospital policy. They supervise House Supervisors, RNs, and MHTs, monitor staffing needs, assist the CNO with training events, provide nursing assessments as needed, and participate in Treatment Team meetings.
Responsibilities
Coordinate and monitor patient care delivery according to standards, mental health practice, and hospital policy.
Supervise House Supervisors, RNs, and MHTs.
Monitor staffing needs on assigned shifts.
Assist the CNO in evaluating, reviewing, designing, and implementing training events for all RN/MHT staff.
Provide nursing assessments on an as‑needed basis.
Participate in Treatment Team meetings.
Qualifications
Graduate from an accredited nursing school; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of progressive nursing leadership experience (1 year required).
Experience in staff education, education concepts, practices, procedures, and 24‑hour shift staffing.
Preferred: at least 3 years psychiatric RN experience.
Licensed to practice by the Iowa State Board of Nursing.
Knowledge of Joint Commission (TJC), CMS, OSHA, and state/federal regulatory requirements.
CPR certification within 30 days of employment.
Completion of Verbal De‑Escalation, Handle With Care, and Service Excellence Training within specified timeframes.
