Design Engineer II

Spicer Group is actively seeking a creative, highly talented, and self‑motivated Design Engineer to join our Ohio Transportation Highway & Roadway Group. The candidate must have an established career in Civil Engineering focused on roadway and highway design, drainage design, pavement design, and the preparation of construction documents—including plans, specifications, and construction estimates. Contribute to the design and development of transportation infrastructure projects, including roadway and highway design, drainage design, pavement design, and related projects. Assist in preparing engineering design plans, specifications, supporting documents, permit applications, and technical engineering calculations. Follow ODOT and municipal standards. Perform assignments that develop professional knowledge and application of standard techniques and procedures. Use judgment on work details and in choosing engineering alternatives. Apply standard practices, adjust and correlate data, recognize discrepancies, and manage detailed processes. Prepare quantities, cost estimates, and supporting documentation for projects. Use engineering software tools such as AutoCAD/Civil 3D and MicroStation/ORD to develop project designs and provide technical expertise. May direct and review the work of other technicians and designers. May serve as an on‑site project representative on a construction site. Position Requirements
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering. EIT certification. Preferred Qualifications
2+ years of experience in engineering, with transportation roadway infrastructure projects. Proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D, MicroStation/ORD, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Benefits
