Visitor Screener - TH Lobby Day Shift (37.5 Hours)
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Visitor Screener - TH Lobby Day Shift. The successful candidate will welcome and screen all visitors, vendors, patients, and employees entering the hospital, ensuring they meet access control protocols and maintaining safety.
Job Responsibilities
Perform other duties as assigned.
Ensure all patients, visitors, vendors, and employees are properly screened according to hospital guidelines.
Demonstrate knowledge of NYULH current guidelines and policies related to visitor, patient, vendor, and employee screening.
Ask appropriate health screening questions and enforce visitor and employee screening policies.
Take temperature of patients, visitors, vendors, and employees.
Triage and elevate clinical concerns if a patient fails screening to appropriate clinical departments.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and departments to support the needs of visitors, patients, vendors, and employees (e.g., interact with Security for transport to ER).
Interact with visitors, vendors, patients, and employees in a prompt, respectful, and helpful manner through excellent communication skills.
Assist with instruction/education on proper personal protective equipment (PPE) use and provide masks to those without proper PPE.
Maintain strict confidentiality of work information (in accordance with HIPAA).
Function as a respectful member of the health care team.
Cooperate with the interdisciplinary team to elevate clinical questions and concerns of patients, visitors, vendors, and employees.
Assist with escorting patients to their appointment/procedure if necessary.
Efficiently and effectively respond to information requests and handle multiple tasks.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years of customer service experience, particularly in clear, empathic communication and quick triage of escalations. Attention to detail, organization, and ability to navigate stressful situations. Must be self‑motivated and able to operate independently.
Qualified candidates must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
Salary range: $48,274.09 - $54,795.00 annually. Actual salary varies based on experience, education, specialty, and hospital needs.
