About the Role Located in Cambridge, Southern Tasmania, this permanent full time Trade Assistant position offers the opportunity to work under the guidance of experienced tradespeople, gaining hands‑on experience across a broad range of equipment, including:

Heavy diesel trucks and vehicles

Mobile plant and machinery

Emergency service operations.

You will learn to

Assist with design, build, maintenance and repairs

Diagnose mechanical and basic electrical faults

Use tools, diagnostic equipment, and workshop systems safely

Follow workplace safety, quality, and environmental procedures

Develop skills across multiple disciplines

Who Should Apply We welcome applications from:

School leavers or young apprentices

Mature‑aged apprentices

Fully qualified tradespeople (e.g. Light Vehicle, Automotive, Auto Electrical) looking to complete a second trade

Anyone with a genuine interest in Vehicle Fabrication.

About You

Have a genuine interest in heavy diesel and machinery

Strong work ethic and positive attitude

Ability to work as part of a team

Previous experience is an advantage but not essential

Current manual driver’s licence (or working towards)

Desirable Requirements

A current unrestricted Drivers Licence.

Forklift licence.

Medium / Heavy Vehicle Licence.

Practical experience working within the automotive industry.
