You will work closely with our senior partners and associates, conduct legal research, draft documents, and maintain client files. Responsibilities
Create legal documents, including correspondence, briefs, motions, pleadings, contracts, affidavits, and settlement agreements for contract negotiations and proceedings
Maintain client files in an organized fashion to ensure up-to-date information is handy for other attorneys, paralegals and support staff
Analyze conflicts in legal matters, advise clients on solutions, and negotiate on behalf of clients
Communicate with senior associates, paralegals, and clients to ensure cases are handled efficiently
Perform legal research, prepare for and attend hearings or other legal proceedings, and give general counsel under the supervision of senior associate attorneys
Serve as legal counsel on the clients’ behalf at hearings, mediations, trials, depositions, and litigation, in addition to supporting senior attorneys for the preparation of the same
Review, modify, and draft motions, discovery responses, demand letters, pleadings, claims, subpoenas, memorandums, and other legal documents
Interview clients, supporting witnesses, expert witnesses, insurance company adjusters, and medical providers to collect information
Assess potential personal injury claims and provide legal advice to prospective clients accordingly
Qualifications
Solid communication skills and problem‑solving skills required in order to work with clients, staff members and senior attorneys
Active member of the American Bar Association (ABA)
Ability to work with senior attorneys to best serve client needs and grow our client base
Applicants must have successfully passed the state bar exam
Has a Juris Doctor (J.D. degree) from an accredited law school
One year of personal injury litigation or trial experience is required
Texas license to practice law and State Bar Association membership are required
