Monday-Friday, 8a-5pm, no weekends, Onsite at Methodist and RCS Shadeland, then hybrid (one week/month onsite).
Summary and Responsibilities of Role Applies IU Health policies and procedures, state, and federal regulations which govern the release of protected health information, including behavioral health, drug/alcohol abuse records, adoption records, and records containing information about communicable diseases. Prior to releasing information, reviews each request, identifies the requester, and validates the appropriateness and validity of the authorization. Responds promptly and prioritizes requests for information that directly impact patient care. Accurately fulfills requests, limiting the information provided to that which is needed to meet the needs of the requester. Provides customer service for providers and patients who need patient health information for continuity of care and other purposes; telephone courtesy and customer service skills required in addition to knowledge of how to locate and print the requested patient information from the electronic record systems as well as historical legacy systems. Maintains effective working relationships with a variety of team members in other units and departments. Direct scan or import authorization documents to electronic medical record system. Handles both verbal and written communication with team members and customers throughout the entire IU Health system. Maintains productivity data for all activities and submits task information daily to the productivity database.

This team processes requests for medical records from patients and providers needing records for continuity of care.
Other Requirements
At least one year of experience in hospital or physician Revenue Cycle strongly preferred.
Requires working knowledge of patient registration and financial clearance.
Requires a high level of interpersonal and problem solving skills.
Requires effective written and verbal communication skills.
Requires the ability to work within a team and maintain collaborative relationships.
Requires the ability to take initiative and meet objectives.
