Facilities Maintenance Associate
Department: James | CCCT James Facility Services
Location: Morehouse Medical Plaza – Pavilion (0880)
Position Type: Regular Full‑time (40 hrs per week)
Shift: First Shift
Responsibilities
Perform day‑to‑day inspections, preventative maintenance, and repair of buildings and equipment.
Conduct daily inspections, installations, and general maintenance (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC) and repairs.
Respond to emergency situations and evaluate & correct defects.
Assist other trades as needed; adhere to safety practices and procedures.
Cleans and maintains work areas and equipment; attends meetings.
Properly complete documentation.
Provide a high level of customer service; communicate with customers, coworkers, and supervision via written, electronic and verbal methods.
Operate department vehicle; perform other duties as assigned.
Actively support the university’s commitment to integrity and personal accountability.
Qualifications
Experience in facilities maintenance including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC.
Ability to perform inspections, repairs, and maintenance under supervision.
Strong communication skills.
Availability to work first shift and to respond to emergencies.
Standard driver’s license (necessary for operating department vehicle).
Additional Information Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check. A drug screen or physical may be required during the post‑offer process.
