Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) and Working at Duane Waters Healthcare Center in Jackson, Michigan for Full Time.
INFUSION REGISTERED NURSE POSITION SUMMARY We are seeking an experienced and skilled Infusion Nurse (RN) to join our team. The ideal candidate will be proficient in administering infusion therapies, managing patient care, and providing education and support to patients in a correctional environment. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest standards of care and patient safety.
INFUSION REGISTERED NURSE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Assist in the chemo clinic with chemotherapy infusions twice weekly
Administer intravenous (IV) and injectable medications, including chemotherapy, antibiotics, hydration therapy, and other prescribed treatments.
Monitor patients during infusion therapy to detect adverse reactions and ensure patient comfort and safety.
Perform venipuncture and manage IV lines, including peripheral and central venous access devices.
Conduct patient assessments, including vital signs, and document findings accurately in electronic health records (EHR).
Educate patients and their families about infusion therapies, potential side effects, and home care instructions.
Coordinate with physicians, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Maintain infusion equipment and supplies, ensuring they are properly cleaned, sterilized, and functioning correctly.
Adhere to infection control protocols and safety standards to prevent healthcare-associated infections.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing professional development activities.
Provide compassionate and empathetic care to patients, addressing their concerns and ensuring a positive experience in a correctional environment.
INFUSION REGISTERED NURSE REQUIREMENTS
Proficiency in chest port access, IV pump management, IV medication administration, identifying adverse reactions with interventions, and ability to take a chemo certification check‑off.
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Michigan.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in infusion therapy, oncology, or a related field.
Certification in Infusion Nursing (CRNI) or Oncology Nursing (OCN) preferred.
