Opportunity As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will lead the design of equipment specifically for our Fresh Produce Technologies (FPT) segment located in Riverside, CA. You will report directly to the Engineering Manager and collaborate with multiple teams to ensure the delivery of high‑quality, efficient, and cost‑effective solutions.
Main Responsibilities
Lead the mechanical design process for our equipment.
Create detailed 3D models and engineering drawings using CAD software.
Ensure designs comply with industry standards and safety regulations.
Ensure delivery and adherence to budget.
Collaborate with managers to define project scope, goals, and deliverables.
Collaborate with the equipment assembly team and fabrication vendors.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
Minimum of 5+ years of experience in mechanical design engineering within the food processing equipment industry (great to have).
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Inventor, SolidWorks, or AutoCAD).
Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Experience with FEA and other simulation tools.
Experience with schematics, control system and automation principles.
Knowledge of sanitary design principles for food processing equipment.
Experience with project management tools and methodologies.
Working Conditions
Location: Riverside, CA (no remote work available).
May require 15%-20% travel to meet with retail partners and attend industry events.
Compensation Range Salary range: $93,000.00 to $115,000.00 per year. Compensation is determined by experience and skill.
