Position Overview
This position is responsible for the supervision of a prisoner crew in the installation, maintenance, repair, and inspection of various mechanical and electrical systems within the Lakeland Correctional Facility. The position works within the secure perimeter of a Level 2 correctional facility and supervises inmate workers on a daily basis. Responsibilities
Oversee daily operations of a prisoner crew; maintain mechanical and electrical equipment; ensure compliance with safety and security protocols; manage pesticide application and commercial driver license requirements as applicable. Qualifications
Education High‑school diploma or equivalent. Experience Five years of experience assisting skilled trades workers in the mechanical or electrical trades, including one year equivalent to a Maintenance Mechanic E9. Completion of a recognized vocational training program in the mechanical or electrical trades may substitute for two years of experience. Additional Requirements Certification or registration as a pesticide applicator and possession of a commercial driver's license may be required for certain duties. Compliance and Testing
Applicants must report any potential conflict of interest. Applicants with a misdemeanor or felony conviction are ineligible until completion of any sentence, including parole or probation. New hires will complete 40–80 hours of Non‑Custody New Employee Training and additional online training. This role is a drug and alcohol‑tested position. Eligible for a $0.40/hour pay premium.
