The Ruhlin Company is seeking to hire a Heavy Equipment Shop Mechanic to work out of the Company’s equipment shop in Sharon Center, OH. Summary: Perform a variety of routine and complex repairs and maintenance on vehicles, equipment, and machinery.

Responsibilities

Perform all maintenance and repairs of heavy equipment, machinery, and vehicles in a safe and efficient manner.

Service equipment per Company maintenance schedules and inspection reports.

Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues and make necessary repairs, adjustments, and replacements.

Inspect, lubricate, and service equipment.

Check, fill, and/or change fluids for all equipment parts and check/change filters.

Inspect, diagnose, and repair equipment support systems, such as electrical, hydraulic, suspension, and air and brake systems.

Read, interpret, and transcribe data to maintain accurate repair records.

Communicate and reinforce the Company vision, values, and goals.

Perform additional assignments per supervisor’s direction.

Essential Skills and Experience

Minimum 5 years’ experience repairing heavy equipment including engine repair and diagnostics.

Valid Class A CDL driver’s license with tank endorsement preferred; or willing and able to obtain.

Previous experience servicing or working with cranes a plus.

Welding and basic fabrication skills are a plus.

Basic computer/iPad skills.

Experience using repair manuals/software, wiring (electrical) diagrams, and schematics necessary to troubleshoot or repair equipment or component failure.

Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed.

Maintain all required certifications by ODOT, OSHA and Company safety programs.

Ability to work well independently.

Ability to perform heavy manual tasks under varying weather conditions.

Willing and able to learn new skills via hands‑on training and acquire additional certifications as needed.
