Industrial Maintenance Technician (LME)

Competitive pay starting at $49.73/hr (with active LME license). Night shift 7PM–7AM with alternating 36‑ and 48‑week workweeks. What This Role Entails This position is part of the Portland Roofing Plant Maintenance Team and plays a role in improving overall reliability and performance of manufacturing and infrastructure equipment. The opportunity is critical to the performance and continued growth of our Roofing plant.
Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
Precise alignment of belts, gears, or directly coupled shafts using proper tools to specified tolerances.
Answers line calls promptly and carries required tools to complete work safely and efficiently.
Completes scheduled maintenance and work orders as assigned.
Assists during process upsets as needed.
Participates in Root Cause Analysis and TPM meetings.
Maintains a safe and clean working environment.
Participates in safety and plant trainings.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED and at least 18 years old.
LME License required.
Minimum of 3 years related industrial experience or equivalent military training in electrical, mechanical, or other technical areas.
Technical Experience
Think under pressure and multi‑task.
Work independently and as part of a team with shift flexibility.
Communicate clearly in English.
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and P&ID drawings.
In‑depth knowledge of manufacturing, industrial maintenance, and machine‑control principles and practices.
Maintain precision measurements.
Strong knowledge of LTT, energy‑control procedures and safe working procedures.
PLC and AC/DC drive experience.
Experience with fusing, thermal overload protection, wiring sizing, motor theory, pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechanical gear.
Basic electrical code knowledge.
Operate a computer and learn SAP and Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
Essential Physical Requirements
Ability to work weekends, nights, and on a 12‑hour shift rotation.
Ability to work overtime on short notice, including weekends and holidays.
Work from heights (up to 150 ft) including man‑lifts and climbing ladders.
Perform repetitive movements: hand, arm, leg; bending and twisting at the waist; bending at the knee and squatting; push and pull 50 lb.
Exposure to temperature extremes, noise levels that may be uncomfortable, and outdoor weather as needed.
Eligible to work in the U.S. permanently.
