Location: St. Louis, Missouri (Full Time)
Starting Salary Range: $80,000 – $105,000
Job Description The transportation engineer will perform civil engineering design services in a team-oriented environment. Project emphasis is transportation engineering design for public and private sectors ranging from small to multimillion-dollar designs. Services are provided to a wide range of clients including state DOTs and other governmental agencies – municipal, county and state.
Responsibilities
Daily production of civil engineering design plans
Work as part of a team to deliver quality design that adheres to the project budget and schedule
Responsible and accountable for client/customer satisfaction and technical project execution
Performs other job duties as assigned
Qualifications, Skills & Abilities
Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college/university
4+ years of hands‑on plan preparation experience for public agency roadway projects
PE license required
Proficiency in MicroStation and a related transportation design package (OpenRoads Designer, Geopak); candidates with an AutoCAD/Civil 3D background are also considered
Working knowledge of DOT/AASHTO Standards
DOT project experience preferred (MoDOT is a plus)
Strong verbal, written, and organizational skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and other general office software
Physical Qualifications
Ability to sit at desk for extended periods of time
Ability to type and/or use a computer for extended periods of time
Sufficient visual ability to focus attention on extended use of electronic documents and software
