Portland Community College is the largest post‑secondary institution in Oregon and the 19th largest in the nation, serving approximately 80,000 full‑ and part‑time students. PCC has four comprehensive campuses, five workforce training and education centers, and 200 community locations in the Portland metropolitan area.
We are looking for part‑time faculty who can teach Aviation Maintenance Technology at the Rock Creek Campus. Your application will be considered for substitute or full‑term class assignments based on instructional needs.
Key Qualifications
Associate of Applied Science
in Aviation Maintenance Technology or a related vehicle service field AND a current FAA Mechanic certificate with both Airframe and Powerplant Ratings.
Minimum of five years of experience exercising the Airframe and Powerplant mechanic ratings. Experience teaching at the college level, in an aviation maintenance training department, or a combination may replace aviation mechanic experience on a year‑for‑year basis.
Academic Credentials
Official transcripts must be submitted within two weeks of the offer date.
Credentials must be earned at a regionally accredited U.S. institution or an equivalent foreign institution. Foreign transcripts will be evaluated by a credential evaluation agency in good standing with the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services.
Benefits & Compensation
Part‑time faculty may be eligible for Oregon Sick Leave and retirement savings plans.
Hourly rates are determined by the type of course taught (Lecture, Lab, or Lecture/Lab).
Newly hired faculty generally start at Step 1 of the current salary schedule.
Veterans’ Preference Portland Community College complies with the Oregon Veterans' Preference in Public Employment law. Documentation (DD214 for veterans; DD214 and a letter from the Department of VA for disabled veterans) should be submitted through the application process.
