What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)

Obtain authorizations from insurance companies for referrals to physicians and medical facilities

Schedule appointments for testing and consultations with physicians

Verify eligibility and coverage for referrals and testing via multiple communication methods

Investigate billing issues and communicate referral statuses to patients

Collect patient payments and manage billing inquiries

What is Required (Qualifications)

High School Diploma or GED

Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a related medical field with experience in processing referrals

Proficient in data entry and managing patient and insurance information

Strong communication skills for interacting with patients and insurance representatives

Ability to work collaboratively in a healthcare setting

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)

Experience with medical billing and coding

Familiarity with healthcare software and online billing systems

Knowledge of insurance authorization processes

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment
