Job Overview The Payroll Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely compensation for all employees, contributing to financial integrity and employee satisfaction. This part‑time role, scheduled for 20 hours per week, manages payroll operations, compliance, and reporting while serving as a trusted resource for payroll‑related inquiries.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and process biweekly payroll using ADP Workforce platform with 100% accuracy and timeliness.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and organizational payroll regulations.
Maintain confidentiality of payroll and employee information.
Oversee ADP Workforce time and attendance system, including holidays, sick time, leave of absence, and accrual banks.
Monitor and verify employee hours and benefit time usage.
Manage benefits enrollment and updates in coordination with HR.
Respond to payroll inquiries promptly and professionally, resolving issues within established timelines.
Generate payroll and HRIS reports for management review.
Maintain accurate personnel files and Personnel Action Forms (PAFs).
Prepare monthly and quarterly payroll compliance reports.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field or equivalent experience.
5–7 years of experience in domestic payroll processing using ADP Workforce platform.
Strong knowledge of payroll compliance and reporting requirements.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, advanced Excel skills.
Comfort and competence in using Generative AI tools, including ChatGPT, Copilot, and Gemini.
Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.
Skills & Competencies
Strong organizational and time management skills.
High numerical aptitude and attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
Critical thinking and problem‑solving abilities.
Ability to navigate HRIS and payroll systems effectively.
Physical Requirements Ability to work in an office setting with prolonged computer use.
Use of standard office equipment (telephone, computer, copier, etc.).
