Job Overview
We are seeking a detail‑oriented and experienced Finance & Payroll Coordinator to join our finance team. This role is vital in managing payroll processes, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting various accounting functions within our organization.
About Us We are a small, family‑run stone business with a proud tradition of quality craftsmanship and personalized service. Our operations include a retail stone yard in Hurricane, Utah, and a quarry in Peoa, Utah. We value integrity, hard work, and a close‑knit team environment.
Responsibilities
Perform data entry related to payroll, benefits administration, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger transactions
Reconcile accounts through detailed analysis of debits & credits, journal entries, and general ledger accounts
Maintain compliance with tax regulations and governmental accounting standards
Support benefits administration activities including enrollments and deductions
Prepare financial reports and perform account reconciliations to ensure data accuracy
Support month‑end closing processes related to payroll and financial reporting
Collaborate with management to optimize financial processes and cost controls
Requirements
Strong knowledge of QuickBooks is a must
Understanding of tax regulations related to payroll and governmental accounting standards
Proficiency in data entry with high accuracy (10 key typing skills)
Ability to analyze financial data effectively and perform account reconciliations
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in financial recordkeeping
Strong communication skills to collaborate across departments and ensure compliance standards are met
