Location : PHX – El Mirage or Goodyear Campus
Duration : 6+ months
Shift : B Side Day Shift (Thursday – Saturday and every other Wednesday)
Responsibilities
Prepares, stages, sets up, and performs startups and shutdowns (e.g., racks, hard drives, switches) according to specific instructions, checklists, guides, standard protocols, and emails.
Performs post‑execution quality checks and verifies grounding, staging, labeling, and cabling are set up properly according to safety protocols, deployment standards, and planned Network Design Tasks (NDTs).
Performs diagnostics and troubleshooting following standard procedures, quickly identifying the cause(s) of issues, and replacing faulty components.
Decommissions hardware for simple changes and refreshes (e.g., memory upgrades, OS rebuilds) following standard procedures with minimal guidance.
Follows procedures to communicate, report, and elevate incidents to appropriate Datacenter Technician Leads.
Monitors the system for equipment failure or errors in performance.
Responds to program error messages by finding and correcting problems or terminating the program.
Helps programmers and systems analysts test and debug new programs.
Opens and manipulates spreadsheet programs and other types of software to load data and produce reports.
Qualifications
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Basic knowledge of computer hardware, servers, and components.
1+ year(s) of experience supporting IT equipment or related technology.
Basic understanding of how to use Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word).
Flexibility to work non‑standard business hours that may include weekends and/or holidays.
Associate's degree in computer programming or equivalent training (preferred).
5+ years of experience (preferred).
Verbal and written communication skills, problem‑solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and manage one's time.
Previous datacenter experience is a plus.
