Physician Substitute - LPN, RN or Paramedic
Join ADMA Biologics, Inc. as a full‑time Physician Substitute – RN, LPN, or Paramedic. This role reports to the Medical Director and/or Center Licensed Physician(s) and is responsible for donor suitability assessment, medical oversight during screening and phlebotomy, and maintaining compliance with SOPs and FDA guidance.
Position Summary Under the direction of the Medical Director and/or Center Licensed Physician(s), the Physician Substitute determines acceptance of all first‑time donors and returning applicant donors, reviews laboratory results, and collaborates on decisions affecting donor suitability.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Perform new and returning donor physicals, and annual donor physicals.
Administer donor education on informed consent programs.
Administer the AIDS Bulletin and assess donors’ understanding of high‑risk activities.
Maintain accurate, legible, and complete donor records in accordance with cGMP.
Review normal donor laboratory work as outlined in SOPs and refer abnormal results to a Licensed Center Physician.
Observe and approve staff training in medically related areas.
Ensure donor reviews are executed in accordance with SOPs.
Provide immediate care and assessment of all donor reactions.
Job Responsibilities Or Job Requirements
Follow cGMP procedures with great attention to detail.
Work effectively in a high‑pressure, deadline‑driven environment.
Basic computer skills, including experience with Word, Excel, and GroupWise.
Demonstrated ability to achieve goals, overcome obstacles, and meet deadlines.
Ability to work well with people from diverse backgrounds.
Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor when interacting with peers and donors.
Experience and Certification Requirements
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
No prior experience required.
CPR certified or ability to obtain certification.
Current RN, LPN, or Advanced EMT license in the state where the Donor Center operates.
Preferred Experience Preferred experience in a regulated environment, familiarity with donor screening, or prior medical oversight in a related setting.
Compliance Requirements Employees are responsible for ensuring compliance with ADMA Quality policies, standards, and SOPs, and for completing all QA, HR, and EH&S records and reports in a timely manner. Any delay or failure to comply must be communicated or escalated to the responsible parties.
Limits of Authority
May not prescribe immunization orders or evaluate the clinical response to donor immunizations.
Cannot authorize Donor Center staff to administer drugs from the emergency kit.
Cannot fulfill the Licensed Physician’s responsibilities for therapeutic exchange plasma, RBC immunization, plasmapheresis of HBsAg reactive donors, plasmapheresis of HIV antibody positive donors, disease state donor programs, review of abnormal lab results, or reinstatement of deferred donors per SPE.
