Assistant Unit Manager

Responsibilities
Directly supervise staff assigned to the unit.
Participate in weekly meetings with Unit Manager to plan/schedule upcoming activities and unit needs.
Prepare required reports for Unit Manager including those on staff performance and inmate relations.
Participate in classification of inmates, custody designations, and job, program, and housing assignments.
Motivate and encourage staff to perform their duties consistent with policy and procedures.
Qualifications
High school diploma, GED certification or equivalent is required.
Three years of experience in a criminal justice field, which includes one year in a supervisory capacity or one year as a CoreCivic Case Manager or Correctional Counselor is required.
Additional qualifying education may be substituted for the experience on a year-for-year basis.
Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles and practices of correctional facility management, supervision, and training as well as knowledge of pertinent corrections laws, rules and regulations.
A valid driver's license is required.
Minimum age requirement: Must be at least 18 years of age.
