The role Prepares lists of materials, accessories, and parts used in production following engineering and design blueprints. Examines blueprints, identifies parts codes, computes quantities needed, and lists total material requirements including contract numbers, routing, and special handling instructions. Submits the list to the purchasing department for use in preparing purchase orders.
Plans, prepares, and coordinates material requirements to ensure they meet production schedules. Communicates needs to ensure they are met, advises management of the status of work in progress and potential problems, and supports material delivery schedules. This includes traveling to warehouses both inside and outside the shipyard and delivery stations using company vehicles to drop off and pick up material and process the paperwork.
Must Have
High School or GED and 5 years of additional education and/or experience.
Nice to Have
Experience in SAP using the material functions.
