Foreman Craft Instructor - $5,000 Sign-On Bonus
Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) – Newport News Shipbuilding division is seeking a Foreman Craft Instructor to lead a skilled trades team on the largest industrial employer in Virginia. The role is full‑time, first shift, with no relocation assistance.
Responsibilities
Supervise, assign, and evaluate semi‑skilled and skilled trades personnel according to skill, experience, and job knowledge.
Train employees to improve quality and quantity of work; recommend training to enhance skill and productivity.
Develop and implement training procedures; break broad strategies into practical action plans.
Ensure compliance with all technical aspects of the job, including adherence to drawings, procedures, and all required documentation.
Oversee manufacturing, installation, operation, testing, and process operations that have significant financial impact.
Monitor job and budget performance for all shifts; provide status reports to management.
Qualifications
High‑school diploma or equivalent with 6 years of related trade experience, or a bachelor’s degree with apprenticeship.
Preferred: Apprentice School X31 Electrician graduate with sound knowledge of shipyard electrician trade.
Strong organizational skills with proficiency in multitasking and scheduling.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities.
Ability to supervise, motivate, and train employees; willing to work a variable schedule including overtime.
Sign‑On Bonus Newport News Shipbuilding is offering a $5,000 sign‑on bonus to all qualifying new Foreman hires. Current employees are also eligible.
