New Haven Athletic Communications is looking for a graduate assistant to be the primary point of contact for four sports. This is a 10-month position beginning on August 1, 2026. Ideal candidates will have a strong work ethic, a team-first mentality, and the long-term goal of working in athletic communications.
The successful candidate will:
Manage the social media accounts of the assigned programs
Create content (photos, videos, graphics, etc.) for assigned programs
Be willing to travel to road games
Learn how to stat and call games using NLS and Presto software
Learn how to perform standard website maintenance for newhavenchargers.com
Serve as liaison between the assigned programs and local/national media outlets
Report scores and information to the NCAA and NEC
Assist with the supervision of student workers
Learn communications roles and be available to work all home basketball games
Become comfortable with running an NCAA Division I home game with the assistance of a full-time staff administrator
Pursue a master’s degree in a related field
Have a background in content creation
Apply and be accepted into a graduate degree program at the University of New Haven
Have strong writing skills
Have a working knowledge of Adobe Suite
Have a working knowledge or interest in learning NLS and Presto software
Be available to work nights and weekends
