Project Manager Career – Rose International
Location: Oakland, CA, USA 94612 (Hybrid – on site 2 days a month, standard business hours). Employment type: Temporary, full-time. Duration: 13 months. Minimum hourly rate: $80.00+, maximum hourly rate: $90.00+. Minimum experience: 8 years in project management within Energy/Utility sector; 8 years in project controls, engineering and/or construction if client-side, 9 years if outside hire. Bachelor’s degree required. PMP certification desired.
Responsibilities
Apply and adapt project management techniques; manage projects that may not be well defined and require creativity or new approaches.
Obtain commitment on detailed work plans—including schedule, cost, resources, contingency, and communication plans; secure management approvals.
Maintain project documentation, identify, analyze, and address performance issues.
Manage vendor task integration, track and review deliverables, and communicate status to stakeholders.
Assess risks, develop contingency plans, and communicate lessons learned and best practices.
Determine achievable project objectives, negotiate third‑party contracts, support other departments.
Track and report budgets, including use of PlanisWare, EPIC PMO, etc.; maintain compliance.
Manage timelines, critical path, and review schedules (daily, weekly, monthly). Implement tactical plans and workstream management.
Interface with and across supporting organizations.
Qualifications
8+ years of experience in project management, project controls, engineering, and/or construction (client-side); 9+ years if outside hire.
PMP certification and maintenance preferred for new entrants.
Specific experience with client or similar electric utilities desired.
Energy/Utility sector knowledge and strong communication skills.
