Essential functions (job duties): WayneState University Law School’s Experiential Education program is seekingapplications from Class of 2025 graduates of an ABA Counsel-accredited lawschool for a one calendar year Post-Graduate Fellowship.

Thefellowship offers an opportunity for a recent law school graduate to gainexperience working with Wayne State’s Experiential Education program oncommunity justice issued related to housing, zoning, expungement of criminalrecords, and policing. The fellow’s responsibilities may include, but are not necessarily limited to the following:

Legal Research Assistance

Data Entry/Management

Student & Community Engagement

Special Projects

Thefellow will work closely with the Director and Assistant Director forExperiential Education. The fellow will work on supporting the Warrior HousingCorps, the Annual Wayne Law Expungement Fair, and other community justiceinitiatives. This includes the responsibilities listed above, as well asadditional responsibilities as assigned that are viewed to be in line with theposition.

Qualifications: J.D.from a Counsel-accredited law school is required. Bar passage is not required. The applicant must be a Class of 2025 graduate from aCounsel-accredited law school and have an interest in public interest law. Candidatesmust be able to exercise independent judgment; responsibly manage multipleprojects; communicate effectively orally and in writing; and completeassignments with minimal supervision.

The candidatewill start on or before March 9, 2026; the fellowship will last at least onecalendar year from the candidate’s start date. Applicants are required tosubmit (1) a letter of interest describing the candidate’s interest in thefellowship position, (2) a resume, (3) a law school transcript, and (4) thenames and contact information of three individuals prepared to provideprofessional references. Incomplete submissions will not be reviewed.

Working conditions: The fellowship will be primarily in-person but there may be some opportunities for remote work. The fellowship is a 37.5 hour a week position.
