Defensive Assistant Position Coach
Monmouth University is seeking a Defensive Assistant Position Coach in the Athletics Department. The successful candidate is responsible for coaching and evaluating a designated defensive position group, assisting with special teams and recruiting, and supporting defensive strategy under the Defensive Coordinator, while also serving as Video Coordinator overseeing all practice, game, and opponent film operations. Key duties include supervising and training video staff, managing video equipment and technology, organizing practice and game‑day filming, producing coaching cut‑ups, and coordinating video exchange and cloud distribution throughout the season.
Monmouth University Football is a nationally respected FCS program with multiple NCAA FCS Playoff appearances and multiple conference championships, competing in the Coastal Athletic Association. The Hawks have achieved top‑20 national rankings, recorded program‑best wins and produced numerous All‑Conference selections, All‑Americans, and professional players, reflecting its tradition of on‑field excellence and player development.
This is an in‑person, on‑campus, non‑remote position.

Identify Skill sets and recruiting metrics for defensive unit
Assist with special teams as assigned
Administrative Responsibilities / Video Coordinator
Supervise Video Staff for practice and games
Hire, train, and monitor student film workers
Organize student videographer schedules for practice and games
Camera setup for practice and games
Care and maintenance of Video Equipment
Coordinate video cut‑ups with H.C., O.C., D.C., S.T.C., Strength Coach
Liaison with DV Sport
Practice
Hire and Schedule Student Help to Video Practice
Coordinate the Videoing of Drills/periods at the direction of Coaching Staff
Coordinate the Capturing of Practice Video into Editing System
Coordinate the Cut, Intercut, and Categorize practice video into appropriate files and projects
Coordinate the sharing of practice film onto cloud‑sharing platform
Game Day
Coordinate videoing game
Responsible for capture, label and organize game day video in editing system
In Season
Coordinate downloads & uploads for weekly opponent exchange video
Coordinate Capture, Cut and Categorize exchange video into Off, Def, ST
Coordinate Creation of all video projects for coaching cutups from practice and games
Responsible for upload video cutups to 360 cloud
Organize student videographer schedules for practice
Responsible for exchange video files for Sports Information, NFL, as needed
Responsible for transportation of all video equipment for all team functions

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree
Experience in Collegiate football program as a coach, player or administrator
A valid driver's license in your state of residence and have had no serious violations (Type A) within the past five (5) years and no more than three (3) moving violations (Type B) in the past three (3) years. University Policy found here: Monmouth University Vehicle Use Policy
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree
Division Level 1 coaching and/or playing experience
