Part‑Time Elections Coordinator I (Prep Center)
Purpose : To perform specialized duties to facilitate federal, state, and local elections.
Position Information : Two positions available on the supply team at the Cobb County Elections Office in the Prep Center.
Responsibilities
Assist in the hiring and training of seasonal staff, assigning and monitoring work, coordinating their activities, resolving conflicts, and recommending disciplinary action as needed.
Train new workers on the elections process and respond to inquiries.
Assist with the coordination of election activities.
Stay up to date with local, state, and federal election laws and codes.
Provide customer service: answer questions regarding election preparation.
Maintain inventory of election equipment and supplies and office supplies, updating and inventorying election equipment after each election, and maintaining inventory of supplies needed for day‑to‑day work activities.
Plan and execute delivery of supplies and equipment, ensuring all necessary signs, supplies, and equipment are provided to each polling site and ensuring that Election Recap Sheets and other election evidence are audited and retained as required.
Assist in preparing and distributing election supplies and equipment for polling locations.
Assist in developing a delivery and collection schedule.
Prepare, gather, and stage various supplies and equipment for delivery using physical strength and tools such as a forklift; conduct loading, unloading, and return of the same.
Inspect returning supplies and equipment; repair damaged machines and supplies or contact vendor for same; and perform various pre‑, post‑, and day‑of election duties.
Prepare election materials, utilizing checklists to sort, count, gather, collate, inspect, and verify election supplies; generate spreadsheets or reports from various information sources.
Report machine and computer problems as they occur, test election equipment, and troubleshoot election equipment as needed.
Assist with logic and accuracy testing of voting equipment.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications High‑school diploma or GED; supplemented by one (1) or more years of customer service experience; experience in Georgia elections processing and knowledge of Georgia election law desirable; MS Office suite experience desirable.
Physical Abilities Tasks involve the regular and sustained performance of moderately physically demanding work, typically involving some combination of climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, and that may involve the lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (20‑50 pounds); may occasionally involve heavier objects and materials (up to 100 pounds).
Sensory Requirements Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally.
Environmental Factors Essential functions are regularly performed without exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
