Summary Reporting to the Director of Sales, the Key Account Manager provides the strategic direction necessary to achieve the sales, gross margin, operating profits, and key deliverables for national accounts. This entails managing and growing accounts on a national level, by building and maintaining long‑term, strategic relationships with high‑level decision‑makers. This role is responsible for nurturing the company's clients, ensuring their satisfaction and maximizing revenue by deeply understanding their needs, proactively addressing challenges, and proposing tailored solutions to foster mutual growth and loyalty.
Essential Functions
Resolve client issues and maintain and develop customer relationships
Develop a thorough understanding of key customer needs and requirements
Negotiate contracts and close agreements to maximize profits
Develop trusted advisor relationships with key accounts, customer stakeholders and executive sponsors
Ensure the timely and successful delivery of solutions according to customer needs and objectives
Communicate the progress of monthly/quarterly initiatives to internal and external stakeholders
Forecast and track key account metrics
Identify and grow opportunities within the territory and collaborate with sales teams to ensure growth attainment
Prepare reports on account status
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Communicate effectively with clients and diverse audiences and cultures, both verbally and in writing
Understand and anticipate customers’ needs and expectations
Interpret data, identify trends, and make sound decisions
Persuade and influence others
Generate new ideas and solutions to meet customers’ needs
Provide insights into market dynamics
Navigate challenges and drive growth
Excellent communication skills, strategic thinking, negotiation skills, relationship management, data analysis, and deep industry knowledge
Education and Experience
Minimum of 5 years of relevant sales experience
Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field preferred
