Sales Manager – Merlo Energy
Location: Philadelphia, PA
Compensation: $80,000.00 – $90,000.00

Role Summary Reporting to the Division Manager, the Sales Manager is a key member of the Merlo Energy Outside Sales Team. The Sales Manager will develop and implement sales strategies for assigned territories and various market verticals to grow the business.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Provide leadership, direction, growth, and mentoring

Grow sales across all markets and product disciplines
Develop short‑ and long‑term strategies for growth and sustainability
Maintain strong working relationships with customers, principals, and fellow Owner‑Associates
Improve sales force effectiveness through the annual sales planning process and periodic review
Develop and implement countermeasures for under‑performing territories
Support strategic company initiatives impacting field sale organization, including supplier partnership programs, sales promotions, e‑commerce, TCO, and integrated solutions
Provide input to division leadership on current market conditions, opportunities for growth, and changing customer dynamics
Provide leadership in personnel functions such as recruiting, hiring, evaluation, training, discipline, and termination
Coach, mentor, monitor performance, and support the regional sales team/office
Perform other duties as assigned

What You’ll Need
Work Experience:
5 years’ experience working with a manufacturer in product management, industry vertical, or direct/indirect sales management role, or 2 years’ experience managing people or demonstrating leadership abilities
Education:
Bachelor’s degree
Analytics/Computer Skills:
Proficient with Microsoft Office suite and knowledge of industry‑specific products and tools relevant to the role
Organizational Skills:
Highly organized and detail‑oriented; ability to multi‑task and shift priorities as needed; ability to work in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment
Cross‑functional Skills:
Excellent mentoring, coaching, and people‑management skills
Communication Skills:
Excellent presentation skills and ability to communicate to all levels; above‑average negotiation skills
Travel:
Up to 30% including overnights
Driver’s License:
Valid driver's license
Physical, Mental and Visual Skills
Ability to see, talk and hear
Ability to sit for 8 hours a day
Physical Environment Exposure to temperature conditions prevalent at the time; noise level consistent with a manufacturer or warehouse.
Skills We Prefer But Don’t Require
Experience: 10 years’ experience in product management, industry vertical, or direct sales management with a manufacturer
Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business
