Role Summary Reporting to the Division Manager, the Sales Manager is a key member of the Merlo Energy Outside Sales Team. The Sales Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing sales strategies for assigned territories and various market verticals to grow the business. Markets consisting of but not limited to, Steam & Condensate products, Control Valves & Regulators, Hot Water Generation, Heat Transfer Solutions, Humidity, Flow Instrumentation, Asset data tracking & management, Operational & Service Solutions. Working with both inside and outside staff, principles and direct and indirect channels to maximize market share.

Exciting work you will do The essential duties and responsibilities of the Sales Manager position will consist of, but are not limited to, the following:

As a leader, model Service Excellence with your team

Provide leadership, direction, growth, and mentoring

Grow sales over all markets and product disciplines

Develop short‑ and long‑term strategies for growth and sustainability

Maintain strong working relationships with customers, principles and fellow Owner‑Associates

Improve sales force effectiveness through the annual sales planning process including periodic review

Develop and implement countermeasures as required where territories are underperforming

Support strategic company initiatives impacting field sale organization, including but not limited to supplier partnership programs, sales promotions, e‑commerce, Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and integrated solutions

Provide input to division leadership on current market conditions, significant opportunities for growth and changing customer dynamics

Provide leadership in personnel related functions such as recruiting, hiring, evaluation, training, discipline, and termination

Coach, mentor, performance monitoring and support regional sales team/office

Perform other duties as assigned

What you'll need

Work Experience:

5 years' experience working with manufacturer in product management, industry vertical or direct/indirect sales management role or 2 years' experience managing people or demonstrating leadership abilities

Education:

Bachelor's degree

Analytics/Computer Skills:

Proficient with Microsoft Office suite; knowledge of industry‑specific products and tools relevant to the role

Organizational Skills:

Highly organized and detail‑oriented; ability to multi‑task and shift priorities as needed; ability to work in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively

Cross‑functional skills:

Excellent mentoring, coaching and people management skills

Communication Skills:

Excellent presentation skills and ability to communicate to all levels of the organization; above average communication and negotiation skills

Travel:

Up to 30% including overnights

Driver's License:

Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license
