Scope of Position The Peripheral Vascular Lab encompasses four procedure rooms located on the first floor of the Ross Heart Hospital. The lab is staffed from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to noon on Saturday and Sunday, and on call until 6:00 p.m. for emergent procedures. Holidays are staffed 8:00 a.m. to noon with no on‑call. The technologist develops and maintains CEUs, registry, and skill level, provides sonographic imaging procedures to patients, assists in training other staff to refine sonographic imaging skills, and assists with quality assessment and improvement.
Position Summary The PVL Technologist performs vascular testing procedures (both imaging and non‑imaging), patient education, and quality assessment activities for the lab; serves as a mentor to other sonographers and students to enhance quality; assists with ongoing quality assurance and improvement initiatives; follows imaging protocols and maintains standards for quality; maintains current knowledge by participating in CME courses relevant to vascular procedures/testing (minimum 30 hours required every three years).
Minimum Qualifications For Hire:
Successful completion of an accredited Vascular Sonography program. Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) required within 18 months of hire.
Ongoing:
Maintains registries and licensing status; meets mandatory education and health surveillance requirements; demonstrates competence in technical, interpersonal, and cognitive skills required to meet essential job functions.
