Ultrasound/Vascular Technologist II – Houston Methodist – Houston, TX
Experienced Ultrasound/Vascular Technologist who completes routine to highly complex diagnostic ultrasound procedures, including vascular ultrasound exams. Serves as mentor to Technologist I and students, works independently with sound judgment, and provides direct assistance to physicians during all diagnostic and special ultrasound procedures. Qualifications
Graduate of an educational program approved by the credentialing body for the required credential(s). Three years’ experience as an Ultrasound Technologist. BLS – Basic Life Support or Instructor (AHA). Must hold one of the following certifications: RDMS‑OB, RDMS‑AB, RDMS‑BR, ARRT‑SON, or RCS. Proficiency in English, strong communication, independent work ability, basic computer knowledge, and team‑player skills. Essential Functions
Promote a positive work environment and collaborate with the patient care team. Guide and mentor Ultrasound Technologist I and students; provide peer accountability. Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures, including vascular exams, and assist physicians during procedures. Assess patient needs, adjust techniques, and ensure optimal imaging and patient experience. Ensure compliance with safety standards, sterile techniques, and infection control. Document procedures accurately, enter charges, and utilize resources efficiently. Participate in special projects and continuous learning; update individual development plan. Supplemental Requirements
Work attire: Scrubs required; Uniform and business professional not required. On‑call: Employees may be required to be on‑call during emergencies. Travel: May require travel within and outside Houston metropolitan area. Additional Information
