Job Description The University of Florida Large Animal Hospital is seeking a self‑motivated and compassionate part‑time veterinary technician to become part of our team.
A successful applicant should be seeking a part‑time flexible schedule and enjoy learning new things and can quickly adapt to a changing environment.
This person would work, primarily, on‑call for nights, weekends, and holidays with additional hours expected to cover staff leave.
This is a position that requires a motivated, well‑organized and caring individual with experience in treating and handling horses – but may include goats, pigs, alpacas, cattle, sheep, and llama patients.
As a member of our nursing staff, working in a unit that is open 24/7 you will perform medical treatments and procedures under the supervision of senior staff.
Must live close to the vet school and have reliable transportation to arrive within 30 minutes of being called in when scheduled.

Classification Minimum Requirements
Must have experience with horses to be considered.
Must be capable of lifting at least 50 lbs and be able to bend, kneel and squat for periods of time to restrain and treat patients.
Expected Salary $15.00 hourly

Preferred
Experience as a Veterinary Technician.
