Base pay range $65.50/hr - $75.50/hr

Work Hours:

8:00 AM – 4:00 PM or 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Are you a Project Manager with a background in the utility or energy sector? We are seeking a

Project Manager II

to lead a portfolio of critical infrastructure projects in Raleigh, NC.

In this role, you will hold single-point accountability for the planning and execution of projects focused on

transmission grid interconnections, 3rd party reimbursables, and NC DOT initiatives.

You will serve as the unifying agent for your projects, providing the leadership and decision‑making necessary to see complex infrastructure from conception to completion.

Key Responsibilities

Lead & Empower Teams (25%):

Assemble and guide matrixed teams across Engineering, Construction, Supply Chain, Legal, and Operations. You’ll provide oversight and direction to ensure all internal and external organizations are aligned.

Stakeholder Communication (25%):

Act as the primary point of contact for project updates. You will lead kickoff meetings, provide monthly status reports, and ensure open lines of communication between team members and senior management.

Strategic Planning (25%):

Champion the planning process, including scope definition, estimating, schedule formation, and procurement/contracting strategies.

Execution & Control (25%):

Drive projects to completion within approved scope, cost, and schedule constraints. You will manage everything from Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and risk plans to safety and environmental compliance.

What You Bring to the Table Required Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree OR 9 years of Project Management experience in lieu of a degree.

Experience:

At least 5 years of dedicated Project Management experience.

Industry Knowledge:

Hands‑on experience with

Transmission engineering

and/or utility project management.

Preferred Qualifications

Utility Expertise:

Experience within a regulated or commercial energy business unit.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in project scheduling, cost controls, and risk management.

Knowledge Areas:

Familiarity with Construction Management, Transmission Grid Planning, or interconnection/formal letter agreements.

Advanced Education:

Master’s Degree in Project Management or Business Administration (MBA).

Professional Certifications

PMP, PE, or CAPM certifications are highly desirable.
